Q. How long have you documented events?
A. Since 1998. We started A/V documenting concerts for Jacksonville
University and grew from there, offering students and parents a chance to
obtain professionally documented recitals, dance exhibitions, lectures,
and graduation ceremonies.
Q. Are there time constraints?
A. Yes, and No. We have created packages that we have found meet the
needs of a standard event. Most weddings and events typically last about 3-4
hours so we have tailored our packages with a buffer of an additional hour
which we use to capture the little things you might miss during your fun but
busy day.
Q. Can I make copies of the final product for friends and family?
A. Yes. Unlike other companies we share the copyright with you, the
customer. You can make as many copies as you like.
Q. Which package is the best and why?
A. The most popular package is the Premium Package. The reason many of
our clients opt for the premium package is the three camera option. The
additional cameras add more points of view that provide for a better quality,
and more exciting, final edit.
Q. Do you document other events besides weddings?
A. Yes. Check our services page to see what else we have done.
Q. How long will it take to edit my event?
A. 9-12 weeks or less.
Q. How many camera operators will be present?
A. That depends on the package. Typically we use 2 camera
operators, though with the Standard package there will be only one.
Q. Why did you start Jacksonville Videography?
A. I started Jacksonville Videography from a desire to artistically document
life's special events. I once heard the quote from Shakespeare's As You Like
It, "All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players. They
have their exits and their entrances, And one man in his time plays many
parts."
That quote has inspired me ever since.
Q. How long will the final video be?
A. Generally the final edited product will be 30-45 minutes depending on
how many events occur during the wedding/reception and how long those
events last. Also, depending on the package you choose the final video can
be 45-80 minutes in length. But if some extra memorable unplanned events
happen during the occasion, they will add to the length of the overall
product.
Q. What equipment do you use?
A. We use Canon's EOS 7D and Vixia HF 200 cameras. For motion shots we
use the MiniDV stabilizer, a pneumatic dolly, and Jib Cranes. For stationary
footage we use Manfrotto fluid head tripods. To edit we use Adobe Creative
Suite 5, and Sony Vegas Pro 9. All of our footage is captured on Sandisk
media and archived twice on 2 different hard drives for storage.
Q. How can an event that last 5-8 hours produce only 30-45 minutes of
footage?
A. The first dance, the bouquet toss, and the toast, etc. These events only last
a few minutes by themselves. The final product reflects that. We capture all
the best moments and condense the day's happenings down to roughly 30-45
minutes. However, if extra events happen during the day or a client requests
priority of a certain event, this adds to the length of the final product.
